Volunteers form a vital role in helping SEND and You develop our service.
By joining our Reference Group you will be required to commit to tri-annual meetings and contribute your informed opinions to develop the service, whilst working with a team of committed, enthusiastic stakeholders enhancing the work of SEND and You.
You may be a young person passionate about informing the services offered to people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), a parent with invested interest in how our service develops, a stakeholder supportive of partnership working or a valued advocate for the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support (SENDIAS) service.
We invite Reference Group members to provide us with an objective view of how we are seen from outside the service. We appreciate volunteer members of our Reference Group as ‘critical friends’ who are at a distance from the service and can therefore feedback on whether the work we are doing is seen in the wider community and by other professionals. Your contributions allow us to gain feedback on whether we are doing what we say we do, if we are representing all service users as we aim to, and if we are underrepresented in any area we invite you to suggest how we may extend our reach.
